JD Walker’s first Christmas album is scheduled for release on Friday, November 27, 2026. It will include six original songs written by JD. His album Pullin’ for You, featuring the title track, is scheduled for release in 2027 and will also be available on vinyl. October 19, 2026, his song “Pullin’ for You” crossed over and reached No. 49 on Hypeddit’s Rock Top 100 playlist on Spotify.

JD Walker’s 2nd album Deeper Than Blood reached No. 1 on iTunes without being streamed, making him the first artist across all genres to achieve that distinction. He has also earned three Top 10 placements on the Christian Country chart from that album. His debut album, Too Far from Heaven, reached the Top 10 in the UK. The Title track reached #88 on the music row chart with absolutely no promotion. 

JD was nominated for the 2024 Josie Music Award for Traditional Gospel Male Vocalist. He had 8 nominations for the 2025 FPCM Media International Red Carpet Award in the UK. He won Gospel/Christian Original Male Artist category for his recording of Your Knees to the Floor. 

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Independence as the youngest of three boys, JD felt drawn to music from an early age. He began writing poems and wrote his first song with his uncle when he was 18. From then on, he dreamed of becoming a professional songwriter and performing on stages like the Grand Ole Opry. JD’s path to music was shaped by profound loss, hardship, and faith. One summer, while he and his childhood best friend were driving to a cousin’s lake cabin, his friend was shot behind the wheel. JD fought his way out of the wreckage and tried to save him, but his friend died in his arms. JD continued forward, attending aviation maintenance school. He later married the woman he loved, but seven weeks into their marriage she was diagnosed with a rare cancer. He stayed by her side for seven months before she passed away. Ten months later, JD’s older brother died by suicide. Through grief and anger, JD found purpose in his faith, songwriting, and martial arts, and felt called to share his testimony and music with others.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNY

JD spent years working in concert security and became certified in celebrity, executive, and dignitary protection. While working as a professional handler for major recording artists, he was encouraged to pursue songwriting after people in the industry heard his work. “Seeing one of my songs come to life in a studio hooked me instantly.”A severe ankle injury delayed JD’s move to Nashville, and he split his time between Missouri and Tennessee for three years. He relocated to Nashville full-time in 2008, collaborated with hit songwriters, and was hired by a prominent artist manager, opening doors across the music industry.

In 2016, while driving a FedEx Ground truck with his Boxer, Tripp, a state plow sent snow and ice through the windshield, causing serious neck injuries. After surgery, JD spent four months on vocal rest and wasn’t sure he would sing again. His first EP had already been recorded, and, with prayer, his voice recovered. A second neck surgery in 2017 led to a blood clot, an ICU stay, permanent nerve damage, and disability. JD remained steadfast in his faith and his belief that he was still here to share his testimony.

FAITH, MUSIC, AND PURPOSE

JD blends country and Christian music into a style often described as Christian Country. His original songs draw on faith, personal experience, and storytelling. He lost his father in February 2018, another profound loss that strengthened his resolve to keep moving forward. JD has also worked in television and media. He earned FAA drone certification, worked on three television shows, and his tornado and flood coverage was featured on The Weather Channel and ABC News.

In September 2022, JD traveled to the Holy Land and was baptized in the Jordan River. Visiting the Via Dolorosa, Golgotha, and the empty tomb had a profound effect on his faith.In February 2023, JD traveled to Dubai. Gucci featured JD’s logo on a bottle of Gucci Guilty in Sephora stores in Dubai, where his music had become quite popular. JD considered an endorsement opportunity but ultimately decided the brand wasn’t right for him. In June 2023, JD was ordained and completed training in deliverance ministry.

JD is the author of There He Is, which chronicles his journey and is forthcoming. He is also the creator of The Gospel Drop and The Gospel Drop for Kids. Both books are scheduled for release in 2027. JD also created The Gospel Drop for Kids video series in early 2026 which they are in the middle of filming. 

JD and his wife Aimee were married on December 21, 2025. They reside in Hendersonville, Tennessee, with their three dogs: Zippy, a Boxer, and Aspen and Zeus, both German Shepherds.

Outside of music, JD and his wife own WMG which is their production company for his music. They also own a land-management company that serves Middle Tennessee. His work with tractors inspired The Tractor Sessions, a popular social media series where fans can find him singing while inside the cab of his tractor.
